A young gospel artist, Sithandazile Nyathi had a live recording of her new album last Sunday at a local church in Gwanda.
Started from humble beginnings, born and raised in Tshoboyi, Gwanda South, she was celebrating her birthday and at the same time recording the new album ‘Umsindo’ on live.
This is Sithandazile’s second album after producing, the first first album in 2017 titled ‘Ukhona umsindo’ and the second album is titled ‘Kungumusa’ She says she is inspired by the Covid-19 era we are living in, rife with life challenges.
‘These are the last days on earth. Heaven and hell are real. We are facing all types of challenges including the pandemic of Covid 19, hence, the album seeks to encourage people to be saved and hold on to Jesus as his second coming is near”.
She writes her songs and she is inspired mostly by her dreams.
“I usually dream lyrics or dream of a certain aspect l should write on. That is why I say l am not a performing artist, but a minister or messenger of the word of God. Hoping to take my music abroad.”
With other young artists writing and releasing albums, she is one of the many inspirations around town.
The arts industry has largely been affected by the coming in of the coronavirus that has seen movement and shows being restricted.
Realizing the richness of the city on talent, there is a need for such artists to be recognized and promoted on national radios and televisions.
