THE Warriors have climbed seven places up the FIFA world rankings that were released yesterday, following an impressive and exhilarating campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in their back to back matches against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) this month.
Zimbabwe were undoubtedly the biggest movers on the global rankings of all the African teams moving from previously ranked position 117 to 110. They are now sitting on position 27 in Africa.
They managed to beat the leopards 2-1 away in Kingshasa and curved out a draw 1-1 at home in Harare to collect four points, leaving them with one foot in the 2019 Cameroon AFCON finals.
The Warriors only seek a point from their remaining two matches to book their place at the AFCON finals in Cameroon next year.
World cup winning champions France, dropped one place allowing Belgium to occupy the number one spot on the rankings through a single point.
Tunisia remain the top ranked African team and it occupies position 27 on the global rankings.
