MBERENGWA- With the 2018 fast approaching various political parties are doing all in their potential to engage the youth –who constitute more than 60 percent of Zimbabwe’s population, with MDC-T in Mberengwa organising various events to mobilise youths through its ‘Bereka mwana tiende’ mantra.
With ZANU PF seemingly ahead with its Presidential Interface with the youths in all provinces, Zimbabwe’s strongest opposition party MDC-T have taken a different road in approaching the youths mostly from the rural areas where the stretched hand of ZANU is not reaching.
The MDC-T Youth League recently organised a soccer gala sponsored by aspiring Mberengwa MP Davis Shoko which was held at Mataga Growth Point which had four teams representing the district.
THE PURPOSE OF THESE PROGRAMS IS TO SENSITISE THE YOUTHS IN THIS DISTRICT AND COUNTRY OVER TO REGISTER AND VOTE FOR THE MDC-T FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR FUTURE
MDC-T National Youth Commander Happymore ‘Bvondo’ Chidziva encouraged youths to register and vote. He also inculcated the spirit of patriotism and solidarity amongst youths in Mberengwa. He further encouraged the youths to seeking peaceful means in solving their differences with those having diverging views from theirs, however pointing out that they must be able to defend themselves .
YOUTHS ARE THE CORE OF THIS COUNTRY AND I ENCOURAGE YOU TO ALL GO AND REGISTER AND VOTE SO THAT THE BATTLE WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING SINCE 1999 CAN BE WON. MDC-T IS NOT A VIOLENT PARTY SO IN THAT SENSE LET’S BE PEACEFUL TO THE END
The ‘Bereka mwana tiende’ activities are mainly targeting first time voters and educating the youths about Biometrical Voter Registration (BVR).
