The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), is calling out for female game changers to take part in the 2nd edition of the initiative that is aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs around the world. The program is scheduled to commence in August 2020.
Do you have a business that has been operational for at least 6 months? Are you willing to attend in-person fortnight sessions either in Bulawayo, Harare or Mutare or alternatively be able to participate in virtual sessions? If your answer is yes, then this call is for you. Answered no to these questions? Do not despair, all are welcome to apply nonetheless.
AWE was launched in 2019 by The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). ACT in Africa, Portify investments and Maoko then partnered with the U.S Public Affairs Section in Zimbabwe to implement the program.
The initiative is set to equip women with the practical skills needed to create sustainable businesses and enterprises through an inclusive learning community, women from around the country will be given opportunities to explore the fundamentals of business, including creating business plans and raising capital, with the goal of building a better future for families and communities around the world.
The chosen participants will have access to DreamBuilder, an online course on women’s entrepreneurship. They will also engage in facilitated lessons on business management and network with like-minded entrepreneurs and mentors in Zimbabwe and from the the United States.
