There is no place like home!
WHILE former Highlanders and Dynamos eccentric goal poacher, Roderick Mutuma, is having a wonderful season in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he has revealed that he misses home.
The nomadic striker moved to DRC’s Lupopo FC, a team that competes in the country’s topflight, early this year after having a stint with the now defunct Nichrut last season.
So far, the on form striker has played five games having scored five goals, leaving his scoring ability at an amicable 100%.
At Nichrut, Mutuma who is not shy to reveal his affections for his family had revealed to this reporter that he was happy because he was now closer to his mother’s hometown, Mvuma in the Midlands.
However, as fate would have it, Mutuma finds himself far away from home, in another country.
Mutuma reveals that this is the work of his creator and he has no power to change it.
“God is the one who chooses the way for me mdara, sometimes life is like that, you need to keep going to find better teams on offer,” he says.
Mutuma adds that it has been difficult surviving in the foreign land without his pillar of strength.
“You know l can’t do anything without my family.”
He adds, “My wife, my mom and everyone at home I miss them.”
In spite of missing his family, Mutuma reveals he has not derailed from the targets he set at the beginning of the season.
“You know I am very hungry for goals this season and my target is to score a total of 10 goals this season.”
