Matabeleland Tuskers Cricket franchise bowler, Ernest Masuku, has revealed he is not impressed with his debut match in England after they were buried by Bury cricket club in the Manchester Cricket League last week.
Masuku went to England last month to ply his trade for Dukinfield Cricket Club in a six months contract.
After joining a team that is very hungry for victory, Masuku feels he did not do justice for his side.
“The first match was okay but it didn’t go as planned as we lost by 90 runs chasing 201,” he says.
“We played against Bury cricket club. I got 3-63 in 12 overs which is not good for the standards l set for myself…Bury won by 90 runs,” Masuku adds.
Masuku revealed that although he is enjoying his stay overseas, he misses busking in the sun at his home land.
“This side is very cold and it will take me a few weeks to get used to it, the competitions are okay, I am actually playing a cup game today around 2 pm Zimbabwean time.”
Masuku, who got the opportunity through the help of his agent, says he hopes this opportunity would pave way for other members of his club to be scouted overseas.
“I got the opportunity through my agent and the club was also following my progress in the franchise competitions, I feel this is a good opportunity for me to showcase my skills and hopefully pave way for other guys to get clubs this side, for that reason I have to give my all in every game I play.”
