Bulawayo– Reigning Miss Gwanda and face of Cosmopolitan, Natasha Gora, says she is elated about making it to the nominations list of the prestigious Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) to be held next month.
Gora is nominated in the Outstanding Female Model category and will be battling for the accolade against Tholakele Dlamini and Anelisiwe Ndebele.
Being a first timer, Gora revealed that she is over the moon about being recognised for her modelling career.
“To be quiet honest I felt overwhelmed with joy when I heard the news, at first l thought it was a belated April fools. But no it wasn’t. I literally cried,” she said.
She went on to unpack what she has been up to since last year, as she suspects this is what got the attention of the people who nominated her.
“Since my graduation last year, I have been competing in pageants, Miss Gwanda, Miss Tourism Bulawayo and Zimbabwe, doing fashion shows with Poly designers and also took part in the summer fashion show with some of the nominees like Calvin Madula and Ben Chest. I was also crowned the face of Cosmo. I have also been involved in charity works with my bosses from GTI studios,” a seemingly ecstatic Gora said.
Gora went on to acknowledge that though she will be competing with the best models in the City, she has set her sight on the ultimate goal ,that is, bringing the accolade home on the day in question.
She believes she would not have made it this far without the support base she has.
“My support has come from my dad, brother, aunt, grandmother, my whole family, my friends my fellow models and my community, and I am grateful for it.”
